Studio OUCH! is brought to you by me, Dayi Novas (dah-YEE).

While I am always up to multiple schemes, my business is officially a 2-part enterprise — an art zine and a tattoo business.

OUCH! Magazine is a colorful, joyful children’s zine for grown-ups. I take submissions regardless of experience or skill level — drawings, paintings, love letters, recipes, essays, photographs, screenplays, poetry… anything printable is welcome. Each issue has its own theme and is distributed as physical prints and digitally here on this website.

OUCH! Tattoos operates out of my private studio in Brooklyn, NY. My first handpoke was done in April 2021, and since then I’ve converted to only using a machine for my work. I am licensed and welcome anyone 18+ to come and get inked!

I enjoy writing stories and poetry, making animations and chunky earrings, hand-binding books, illustrating, designing typefaces. I graduated as Valedictorian from Douglas Anderson School of the Performing Arts, and from The Cooper Union with a degree in design and painting.
